On Monday 23rd October 2023 the club celebrated five years of short mat bowling at Beversbrook Sports Facility, in the Community Hall.
Started in 2018 with two secondhand mats and some sundry equipment, the club was a success from the start, and in 2019 a grant from Sports England enabled the club to upgrade to three new mats and playing apparatus. Just before Covid broke in March 2020 there were as many as 33 at some sessions. Members started playing in the WSMBA Winter League in 2022 and have played in many County competitions, as well as taking part in internal club competitions.
Members before the session started
The celebrations on Monday brought together current members, past/retired members and some of those who have assisted the club. After the bowls’ session a buffet was provided for refreshments and a raffle was held. The Club secretary, Stuart Beard, gave a small speech, explaining how the club had evolved over the last 5 years. He thanked those who have helped the club, and the club members for their support over the years.
The raffle desk, that did a great job of raising £117 for charity

We took part in the morning event to show all the activities available at Beversbrook, we had about 14 turn up covering all age groups and abilities. A very successful and enjoyable time, many thanks to the Club members who attended, Ann & John Harris, Mary Edwards, Phil Milham and Stuart Beard, here are some of the photographs of the morning.
